Somatic Therapy recognizes that the body has the capacity to heal itself and the understanding of how to heal. The Somatic Practitioner engages with the body, which offers an intelligence beyond the individual’s cognitive experience. With support, the client learns to express stuck emotions, and develops a feeling of “being at home” in their body.
Current, evidence-based research considers Somatic Therapy to be one of the most effective treatments for trauma.
