I believe that some of our dis-ease stems from our disconnection to our natural environment. In my work as a nature-based therapist I explore your relationship with the natural world as an opportunity for creating change, meaning making, and for connecting to your own naturalness and power. I work under an Ecotherapy modality, described below by Human Nature Counselling:
Ecotherapy is a form of experiential therapy that incorporates relationship with the natural world into counselling interventions to enhance the client’s growth and development, and strives towards the reciprocal healing of both humans and nature. The scope of ecotherapy practices is widely varied, and can include: mindfulness and sensory awareness practices, environmental grief work, wilderness rites of passage, nature-based soul work, exploration of ecological identity, horticulture therapy, equine and animal assisted therapy, nature as co-therapist, and environmental action and restoration work.
