Gestalt Therapy is a holistic therapy, viewing humans as having the potential to bring balance to their own bodies, minds, and spirits through the natural process of homeostasis. The Gestalt process includes the relationship between the therapist and the client, seeing this relationship as a mirror to the client’s relationships outside the session. Through engaging with resistances, issues and traumas in the present “here and now” of the session, the work will have the opportunity to directly translate into the client’s life. The therapist’s focus is not only on the client’s words, but on his or her direct experience.
